The Holy Bible teaches us many things. Now, we learn about mocking in the Bible, and God shows His grace so that we can learn and grow spiritually. Let us study God’s Word deeply and build our special spiritual growth. Let us look into Genesis 21:10 and understand an important lesson. Let us see who mocked whom in the Bible, and what happened to those who mocked. Let us learn some things from the Bible.
Ishmael and Isaac – Mocking Led to Sorrow.
God loved and blessed Abraham, the father of believers, and Sarah, the mother of nations. According to God’s promise, at the appointed time, even in their old age, He blessed them with a beautiful son, Isaac.
When the child was weaned, Abraham made a great feast. At that time, Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, Ishmael, mocking Isaac. So she said to Abraham, “Send this slave woman and her son away. The son of this slave woman will not share the inheritance with my son Isaac.” Mocking in the Bible. We need to learn from this (Genesis 21:8to10)
When Ishmael mocked Isaac, sorrow came upon him. Immediately, Ishmael had to leave the household with his mother. Those who mock will surely face sorrow.
The son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born according to the Spirit, just as it is written in Galatians 4:29–31. The same thing is happening today. People who live according to the flesh persecute those who live according to the Spirit. Because of that, they lose their inheritance.
The Boys Who Mocked Prophet Elisha: Mocking in the Bible.
Some boys mocked the prophet Elisha, saying, “Go up, you bald man. Go up, you bald man 2 Kings 2:23to25. Immediately, two female bears came out of the forest and tore forty-two of those boys. They mocked a man of God, and even though they were only boys, sorrow did not spare them.
The Bible teaches us: “Honour your parents, elders, and respectable people so that you may have a long life.” If someone mocks God’s servants or holy people, they will surely face sorrow. Important lesson through this Mocking in the bible.

Mocking in the Bible:- Rabshakeh and King Hezekiah.
Rabshakeh spoke proudly and mocked Hezekiah, saying,
“We came here by the command of the Lord to destroy this city.” (Isaiah 36:10) He mocked and insulted Hezekiah. Because Rabshakeh mocked, he faced sorrow. In Isaiah 37:22to29, we see that the king of Assyria, Sennacherib, and Rabshakeh spoke against Hezekiah and prepared for war. God Himself stood against them. The angel of the Lord fought on behalf of Hezekiah because of his tearful prayer. Those who mocked faced sorrow.
Daniel – The Princes and Rulers
In the time of Daniel (Daniel 6:3,4,24), when the princes and rulers saw that Daniel was prospering, they tried to find fault against him. But God sent His angel and protected Daniel in the lions’ den. The mouths of the lions were shut. But the men who accused Daniel were thrown into the lions’ den, and before they even reached the bottom, the lions crushed their bones. Trouble will surely come to the one through whom trouble arises. Matthew 18:7.
Judas Iscariot – Jesus
The Son of Man will go as it has been determined, but woe to the man who betrays Him. (Luke 22:22) Judas, who loved money, betrayed Jesus. He destroyed himself by hanging himself. He harmed himself. Love of money is the root of all evil. Because of many troubles, people have pierced themselves with grief. (1 Timothy 6:10). It’s a powerful teaching through mocking in the Bible.
Balaam – Against the Israelites
Balaam, who once had a good name as a prophet, turned away from the right path because of greed for money (Numbers 22:7). He went to curse God’s people. God used a donkey to give him wisdom. In the end, he was killed by the sword. (Numbers 31:8) Worldly riches blinded his eyes. He became deaf to God’s voice. At last, he perished along with the disobedient. We must repent and listen to God’s Word. We see many people here mocking in the bible.
