Anointing In The Bible Reveals God’s Powerful Purpose.

Beloved in the Lord, Grace and peace be to you in the name of our dear Savior Jesus Christ. In this message, we will understand anointing in the Bible, which reveals God’s divine purpose and calling upon individuals.

Jesus means Savior. Christ means “the Anointed One” or “the One appointed.” Therefore, Jesus Christ is the One appointed and anointed to save. Christ is the One who received the anointing to bring salvation.

Abraham – Chosen by God

Nehemiah 9:7 God chose Abram and gave him the name Abraham. He made a covenant with him, promising to drive out seven nations and give their land to him. Abraham was established by God and became known as the father of faith. Through this, we clearly see how God appoints and sets apart individuals, which reflects the meaning of anointing in the Bible.

Isaac – Child of Promise, God’s Anointing in the Bible

Genesis 17:19; 26:4 God told Abraham that Sarah would bear a son, and he should be named Isaac. God established His covenant with Isaac. He promised to give him all these lands and multiply his descendants, and through his offspring all nations of the earth would be blessed. Isaac was chosen and appointed by God, showing the continuation of God’s plan through ordination in the Bible.

Jacob – God’s Chosen Servant

Isaiah 41:8 Jacob was chosen by God. God held his right hand and blessed him. This shows that those whom God appoints are guided and strengthened by Him, which is a beautiful reflection of ordination in the Bible.

Rebekah – Appointed for a Purpose, Grace Anointing in the Bible

Genesis 24:14 Rebekah was appointed by God to be Isaac’s wife. Eliezer prayed at the well, and God revealed His chosen one. Rebekah was divinely selected, showing that even life relationships are guided under God’s plan through ordination in the Bible.

Pharaoh – Raised to Display God’s Power

Exodus 9:16 Pharaoh was appointed so that God’s power might be shown and His name proclaimed throughout the earth. Even rulers can be used by God to fulfill His divine purpose, which reveals another dimension of anointing in the Bible.

Aaron – Appointed as High Priest

Psalm 106:16 Aaron was chosen and consecrated by God as the High Priest. His role shows that spiritual leadership comes through God’s calling and anointing, highlighting the importance of ordinationin the Bible.

Moses – Deliverer and Leader, Great Anointing in the Bible

Acts 7:35 Moses was appointed as a ruler and deliverer over Israel. God used him to lead His people out of bondage. His life reflects how God raises leaders through anointing in the Bible.

 David – Anointed King

1 Samuel 16:12-13

God said, “This is the one I have chosen.” Samuel anointed David as the ruler over Israel. David’s anointing shows that God looks at the heart and appoints those who are after His own heart, revealing the power of anointing in the Bible.

Jesus Christ – The Chosen and Beloved

Isaiah 42:1; Psalm 80:15; Acts 10:38 God declared, “This is My chosen one, My beloved.” Jesus Christ is the branch planted by God’s right hand. He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and power. He is the perfect example of anointing in the Bible, fulfilling God’s ultimate plan of salvation.

Saul – Chosen Vessel, Miraculous Anointing in the Bible

Acts 9:15; 22:14 Saul was chosen to carry God’s name before Gentiles and Israelites. He was appointed to know God’s will, see the Righteous One, and hear His voice. His transformation reveals how God uses individuals through anointing in the Bible.

The Church – God’s Chosen People

1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:10 We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession. We are called out of darkness into His marvelous light to proclaim His greatness. This clearly shows our identity and calling through ordination in the Bible.

God’s Purpose in Creation (Anointing in the Bible)

In God’s creation, everything is made for a purpose.

  • God appointed a worm to correct Jonah (Jonah 4:7).
  • He made Jeremiah like a fortified city, an iron pillar, and bronze walls (Jeremiah 1:18).
  • God used Rahab to help the spies (Hebrews 11:31).
  • He used a donkey to correct Balaam (2 Peter 2:16).
  • He sent hornets to drive out enemies (Exodus 23:28).
  • He set the sand as a boundary for the sea (Jeremiah 5:22).
  • In the same way, we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:6).

All these examples beautifully reveal God’s divine appointments through anointing in the Bible.

Our Calling and Anointing

We are called to proclaim His glory. Just as a bride is anointed with oil before marriage, we are anointed by the Holy Spirit. For healing, the sick are anointed with oil (James 5:14–15). Prophets, kings, and priests were anointed, and in the same way, we too must walk in that anointing.

God commands that no harm should come to His anointed ones (Psalm 105:14–15). This shows the protection and blessing that comes through ordinationin the Bible.

Therefore, beloved, let us understand that we are chosen, appointed, and anointed by God for His purpose. May we live as people who proclaim His glory and walk in His calling. May the joy and protection of this divine ordinationremain upon you always.

May the Lord God bless you all with the fullness of His grace and the power of anointing in the Bible. Amen.
